Bengaluru’s notorious traffic jams are no secret. Many residents expressed concerns about poor road management and traffic congestion in the city. Silicon Valley is once again in the spotlight due to its notoriously congested traffic. The latest one to cause concern? Rajan Anandan, Managing Director at Peak XV Partners, recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his airport travel ordeal.

The aforementioned user recently expressed his frustration over enduring more than two hours of traffic congestion to reach Bengaluru Airport.

“2 and a half hours to reach Bangalore airport from the city. Flight time from Bangalore to Delhi is 2 and a half hours,” Anandan posted, perfectly highlighting the frustration felt by millions of Bengalureans suffering from the city’s congestion.

Social media users weigh in

His post struck a chord and quickly went viral, sparking a wave of responses from social media users. While some flooded the post with witty reactions, others expressed their frustration.

“It depends on what time you travel. I usually take the morning flight at 4am and land by 6am and from there it only takes an hour to reach the city,” one comment read.

Another said: “Daily harassment by everyone won’t help; someone has to get their hands dirty trying to solve this problem. Can we all get together and do this?”

“It’s definitely a point of thought. Maybe air taxis will be launched soon. Metro Rails might tone things down a bit too. However, this post calls for subtle humour,” one user wrote.

One person said: “One joke is also true and will remain relevant forever.”

Another said: “Bangalore airport needs an air city like Delhi airport.”

“My personal best is 3 hours and 45 minutes from Marathahalli to T2 and I entered the flight just 10 seconds before the door closed. You still have a long way to go. You can do better next time.” another user commented.

“It took no more than 45 minutes to get from the airport to Koramangala. A little travel planning and timing helps,” said a Bengaluru resident.

During an appearance on the Exploring Minds podcast, Zepto founder Aadit Palicha also expressed similar frustration. When the host asked him what problem in his life he wants to push and solve, Balesha replied, “The biggest problem I face in my life is commuting whenever I need to catch a flight from my residence in Bangalore to the airport. This is the most painful thing that I have to do once or twice a month.”

In response, the host suggested that the issue might be resolved by 2026 or 2027, as several companies were already working on it. “I would be very happy if that happened,” Palesha said, laughing.
