The photos reveal the “squares” patterns that indicate that Mars had a flowing water system.

Rover curiosity NASA has closely brought out images closely to the Mars rock formations, which scientists at the Space Agency say provide some of the strongest evidence so far for the flow of old groundwater on the Red Planet.
The photos, taken from the slopes of a mountain inside the Mars hole, show a network of low hills engraved in a cross -style. According to NASA, these hills are likely to be formed when metal -rich groundwater moved on the foundation, which led to the deposit of materials that ultimately harden the structures that were now captured.
“It is possible that the foundation will form under this hills when groundwater flows through the rock left behind the minerals … hardening and cement -like.”
NASA said in a blog on its website: “I found Rover a dramatic guide on this groundwater when she faced crossed low hills, with only a few inches long, arranged on what geologists call a square style,” NASA said in a blog on its website.
Exploring an unprecedented area previously from orbit, curiosity has found new exciting evidence on old groundwater. Rover uses its training for skewers of rocks that will give geologists new evidence of how this area is formed. pic.twitter.com/zzjzamww8h– In Mars (nasamars) June 23, 2025
NASA released the video for the first time and pictures of a blog on its website on Monday.
“The great ambiguity is the reason that the hills were stacked in these large patterns and why only here. We continue, we will study the hills and mineral minerals to ensure that our idea of how to form it on the target,” was quoting Ashwin Fasavada, which is quoted from the NASA laboratory in California, as it is transformed into the agency code.
Scientists believe that Mars had rivers, lakes, and perhaps even ocean, but the planet gradually dried when it lost its atmosphere.
ROOR NASA’s curiosity was built by a California team in a place called jet drive, or JPL. They work with NASA to explore Mars and learn more about the Red Planet as part of the Grand Space Program.
