A 40 -year -old Indian customs officer shared his disappointment after rejecting a tourism visa request in the United States, despite the presence of a stable government job, a house, and great savings. In the Reddit publication, he explained that the interview lasted only three minutes, and the consular officer asked some questions about his travel plans.
The applicant, who had previously visited Dubai and Thailand, said he is now planning to visit Japan this year instead of the United States. He revealed that his only mistake during the interview was that he would return from San Francisco instead of Los Angeles.
“I am 40 meters, I have my own home, and more than 50 for savings in savings and investments, a stable profession that I am happy to own, friends and relatives here, and I am not in a mood for a new start. I just wanted to travel and enjoy life. I don’t have relatives in the United States of America,” he wrote.
Refuse the fast visa
According to The Reddit Post, the interview was almost completely focused on his travel line. Despite his clear relationships with India and the history of international travel, the officer rejected his visa within minutes. This left him frustrating, because he felt that his financial stability, his professional life and his strong relationships with India were not completely considered.
Social media reactions
Other Reddit users quickly joined the discussion.
A person wrote: “I knew the cases where 214B was given to people who earn less than Lakh a month.” The applicant answered, saying: “I have read about people who have a wonderful travel date and good salaries are rejected. They say that many Indians are exaggerated, and they are losing there and start working for him, without him – and this means that you do not check properly, you are granted visas for wrong people and your choice is defective !!!”
Another user encouraged him to re -apply, saying: “If you really want to go to the United States, then return. I am sure you will be.” The applicant answered, saying: “I will re -submit the request next year on a visit in 2027. I spent last night planning for trips in 2026 since the cancellation of the United States plan. I had to start planning a new trip immediately, as I was sad and disappointed. Now we will visit Japan in January instead of the United States !!! I am happy and excited !!”
Some users discussed the broader deportation issues.
One of the individual, “Dunki’s assumptions about us” note, indicates the route of illegal immigration. The applicant answered, “O man, I understand that people just want to leave India, but why will I be? I am happy here !!!
Despite the setback, the applicant is still optimistic, and his disappointment turns into an opportunity to explore new destinations while preparing for a future American trip.
