A woman visiting a Nykaa store in Faridabad had an annoying and humiliating experience while shopping for her sister’s wedding. She and her friend were allegedly asked to leave the store, which attracted the attention of other customers.
The woman shared her experience on Reddit with the caption “She was asked to leave Nykaa and told to never come back!” According to the woman, the incident occurred in Sector 15 on November 6, in front of the store manager, who did not intervene during the confrontation.
“I’ve known girls like you since childhood.”
The woman said she was checking out color correctors when a saleswoman approached her and told her she could not use the product directly.
“Yesterday, I visited the Nykaa store to shop for my sister’s wedding. I was checking out the color corrector when the sales lady came up to me saying I couldn’t use it directly and said if I wanted anything I could ask her. I was fine because the tone was dominant,” the woman wrote.
Later, while exploring skin care products, the saleswoman told them that the store would be closing even though it was only 7 p.m., and other customers were still shopping. When they questioned her behaviour, she said: “Tum jaisi ladkiyo ko mai ache se janti hun, kuch kharidana nahi hai bas ghumne aajati ho (I know girls like you very well, you don’t come to buy anything, you just come to roam).”
“Will you serve me?”
The confrontation escalated further and the saleswoman shouted: “Kaam karti hun mai yahan. Naukar hun tumhari? (I work here. Am I your maid?).” The woman said she did not call her by that name, but the staff continued to insult her with phrases such as “batmiz lakia (bad mannered girls)” and “ma baap ni kuch sekhaya nahi (your parents did not teach you anything).”
Finally, the employees told them: “Bahar niklo yahan se kabhi aa mat jana yahan (Get out and never come back here),” and the confrontation continued outside the store in full view of the market.
“The entire market was listening and watching us being insulted in this way, and we did not say a single word because we were in shock why she did that,” the woman said.
“It happened right in front of the store manager.”
She also pointed out the questionable behavior of the store manager who did not intervene.
“This happened in front of the manager and she didn’t say a word to her. I also asked my friend who works there and he said this happens all the time here, the staff here are ridiculous, and you shouldn’t visit this store,” she wrote.
The woman also filed a complaint and emailed Nika about the incident, but reportedly did not receive any response.
She concluded her speech by saying, “Now I don’t know what to do. Should I do something or remain silent now? This incident affected me a lot.”

Reddit users are speaking out
The post attracted widespread attention on Reddit, where users expressed their outrage at the woman’s experience. Many of them also shared their frustrating experiences in Nika.
One user suggested: “Mention the site and post on Twitter and other beauty sites. Don’t let this go, no paying customer deserves this dirty behaviour.”
Another said: “I swear this is always a nykaa problem! The last time I went there, the saleswomen gathered around me and started whispering and laughing around me, which made me feel so ashamed of myself, and I haven’t been there since.”
“Nykaa store experience is not usually great, I also had a good incident in Bangalore with a boy. He was very helpful and very kind and I still enjoy the products he recommended. Every time, I really feel like they are following you, judging you or staring at you because you are doing your own thing and don’t want their help,” another person shared.
One person said: “I would really like someone to record this kind of behavior and post it online. So they would have to take action against them.”
“Was she mentally ill or what? Disgusting, unprofessional and unacceptable behavior from her!! She should be held accountable Nika and that woman should apologize!” read another comment.
The woman also shared the incident on X (formerly Twitter), but Nykaa has yet to issue an official response.
