However, the woman managed to flee the scene before police arrived, albeit empty-handed. Police reviewed CCTV footage and began an investigation despite the owner’s refusal to file a complaint, according to reports.
The CCTV footage quickly spread on social media, with people commenting on the gender dynamics of the crime. One user wrote: “Crime has no gender, nor should it have consequences.”
“People who get instant karma are my favorite type,” another user commented. A third person said: “What you didn’t count on was the store owner’s reactions – and his belief in true gender equality.”
Another user said: “This is how gender equality should be. A bad criminal is a bad person. He should receive proper beatings regardless of his gender.” However, others said the store owner should not have been so aggressive towards the woman.
