Content creator Tilak Dubey shared an emotional encounter at Borivali railway station in Mumbai, giving a glimpse into the quiet struggles that many men face. In his Instagram post, which has now gone viral, Dube says he was waiting for the train he had just missed at the station. “The platform was almost empty and quiet. I had just missed the train, and the next one was half an hour away. So I sat down… and there were a few scattered souls passing by,” he wrote.

Then he noticed another man nearby. “There’s another man, sitting quietly, waiting for the train he’s already missed… perhaps for reasons greater than time. His head is down. His eyes are wide open. He’s crying… but it’s not the kind of crying that people notice. It’s the silent kind.”

Dobby approached the man and asked him if he was okay. In response, the man just said: “Bas yaad aa gaya kuch (I just remembered something)… Thank you very much for your question.”

The creator describes the scene as one of stillness. “He stares at the empty track, as if waiting for a train that will never come, maybe someone he lost, maybe the version of himself that never came back.”

Reflecting on that moment, Dobby noticed how many men often endure pain in silence. “Men cry too… but in silence. Not because they are weak, but because sometimes silence is the only language that pain understands.”

The post concluded with hope for the man’s safety. “I’m praying to the universe, please, send the best possible way of happiness into this man’s life… I don’t want to post this because it’s his personal moment… but still the world is right or wrong.”

Here is the clip:

The post has already garnered 1.9 million views, with many sharing personal experiences and sympathetic messages.

Among those who commented was the man in the video himself, who wrote: “Brother, it’s just me. Thank you for noticing and being sympathetic to me. I’m fine now. I was stressed thinking about my life and my parents. Thank you all for the support. From all of you.”

Other users reflected on the broader message of silent struggles.

One commented: “Every man goes through this pain. Hugs really help my brother. I hope he gets stronger.”

Another noted: “Thank you for asking he’s fine…even small words can have a big impact. At least he’ll remember that there are people around us who always care.”

Some common personal experiences of empathy. One user wrote: “I remember crying like this on the plane after visiting my sick father… The man sitting on my right politely asked me if I was okay… He listened to what I had to say and shared with me about his father. He picked me up when I was broken.”

Others talked about the hidden battles people face daily. One user wrote: “Sometimes, that smile we wear is just for the world – a mask with a purpose… Be strong. It’s okay to cry sometimes, you’re not weak.”

“This publication provided a glimpse into the hidden struggles people carry, reminding us of the silent battles that often go unnoticed.
