As the chaos caused by IndiGo’s operational disruptions, caused by crew shortages and scheduling challenges, slowly subsides days after it began, a collaborative video by Habitat Studios founder Balraj Ghai and comedian Samay Raina has taken the internet by storm. The clip begins with Samay sitting comfortably in the business class cabin of an IndiGo flight, casually scrolling through his phone.
Everything seemed normal until he noticed a man taking the same flight. The man, who appeared on India’s Got Lant, walked past him, smiled, waved politely, and headed towards the back of the plane. Samay looked stunned, and the scene suddenly turned into a flashback. The video showed the same man saying “Yad karo” (remember), reminding Samay of his first appearance on the satirical show India’s Got Latent.
The strange coincidence that “haunts” him.
In the clip, Samay pointed out that contestant Monal Kohli claimed that a strange coincidence had been following him since his childhood. Wherever he went, whether it was the nursery or his workplace, things were mysteriously closing down. This pattern continued with the satirical show after it became embroiled in controversy, and now IndiGo is facing a similar fate. The video then transitions to news screenshots highlighting the sudden disruption of IndiGo’s flight operations.
IndiGo is India’s largest airline, and has faced one of its massive operational crises in years, leaving thousands of passengers stranded across the country. Mass flight cancellations and hours-long delays have disrupted schedules at major airports, leaving travelers distressed. The situation became so chaotic that it prompted aviation regulators to intervene.
Internet tells Monal Kohli to visit places they want to ‘destroy’
The clip went viral. In response, popular food content creator, Foodpharmer, also known as Revant Himatsingka, commented, “Bro, please go to Sting Energy and Dabur chwayanprash office.”
“Bro has a 100% track record! He should receive the Digital Disruptor of the Year award from Modiji himself!” Vishal Dadlani joked.
Another user mentioned: “Is aadmi ke jeewan par @akshaykumar movie Banane hi wala hai.”
“Bhai just college aa jao,” someone else asked the man jokingly.
Who is this “jinx” man?
In an episode of Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent, a man named Monal Kohli claimed that wherever he goes, he brings with him a streak of ‘bad luck’. Describing himself as “unlucky”, Monal said that the school he attended closed down after he joined, and the next school he attended also closed soon after.
This prompted Samay to ask, “So, you have now come to India’s Got Lant?” Monal said he was worried about the show when he decided to moderate it, prompting the comedian to hilariously warn him of the consequences if anything happened on his show. An error has occurred.
After YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, and content creators Apoorva Mukhija (Rebel Kid) and Ashish Chanchlani, appeared and featured on the show, it was suspended due to controversial comments made by Ranveer. He made inappropriate remarks towards the parents, which created such an uproar that people even filed police complaints against them.
