The government ordered the airline to reduce its operations by 10 percent after the massive crisis sparked by the cancellation of its flights over the past few days. The government has ordered IndiGo to reduce its routes to stabilize its operations. Amidst the controversy surrounding the company, a video of the IndiGo auto-rickshaw went viral on social media.
The clip, shared by content creator Shailendra Singh on Instagram, shows him driving an auto-rickshaw painted in the same colors as IndiGo aircraft. Not only that, the AI-generated video shows that the car also has wings and a rudder.

The creator reacts to the popularity of the video
The original clip received more than 47,000 likes in three days. Speaking about the reactions to the clip, Shailendra Singh dropped a video highlighting how the reactions made his Indigo auto rickshaw “fly”.
The IndiGo crisis continues
IndiGo CEO Peter Elbers met Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, Union Civil Aviation Minister, on December 9 to discuss how the airline is handling the cancellation crisis. Naidu dropped a picture from the meeting and wrote: “The Ministry deems it necessary to reduce IndiGo’s overall routes, which will help stabilize the airline’s operations and lead to less cancellations. A 10% curtailment has been ordered. While adhering to it, IndiGo will continue to cover all its destinations as before.”
It was also announced that IndiGo has completed refunds for all affected flights up to December 6. The announcement came as more than 400 IndiGo flights were canceled across the country, ANI reported.
The authorities continue to monitor the situation and are in discussions with IndiGo on how to best handle cancellations and chargebacks.
