A birthday celebration on a busy road in Gujarat has sparked anger and concern after a man was seen setting off firecrackers in the middle of traffic. The accident occurred in Surat and involved a local businessman who chose to celebrate his son’s birthday in a way that endangered other road users.
The act was caught on camera and later shared online, where it quickly gained attention. Many viewers wondered how such behavior could be allowed on the public road, especially with passing vehicles and people stuck in traffic.
The video shows firecrackers exploding in traffic
The video begins at night on a public road. A man named Deepak Igardar was seen standing in the middle of the street while another person helped him light the fireworks. Cars and two-wheelers can be seen nearby, and loud horns can be heard in the background as motorists wait for the road to clear. Despite the noise and chaos, the man continues his celebration.
In the next part of the clip, Deepak raises his hands in the air while holding two large fireworks fountains. Sparks shoot upward as smoke fills the area. People stand nearby, some watching, as vehicles slowly pass by. Firecrackers explode a few meters away from traffic.
Another clip shows him exploding firecrackers again on the main road, with cars passing by and headlights visible. The road is not closed, and there is no indication that safety procedures have been followed. The celebration continues as if it were in a private place, even though it is clearly a public road.
When Deepak Igardar was asked about the incident, he reportedly brushed off the criticism and said: “I am a celebrity. What serious crime have I committed if I stop you for five minutes?” His comment upset many viewers.

The police intervened after the video spread
As the video gained momentum, Surat’s Dumas police took note of the incident. Reports said that the act took place near the post office in Sultanabad village. After reviewing the footage, Police Inspector Shri NV Bharwad of Dumas Police Station registered a case against the accused.
Deepak Igardar has reportedly been booked under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act on charges of launching fireworks on a public road and causing disruption to it.
Social media reacts with anger
The clip sparked strong reactions online, with many users calling for strict action. “Nothing like this will happen. The apology post will never come,” one person commented.
Another wrote: “Bhaiya Inka Bhi before and after Wala Video aana chaiye….Kisi ke saath bheed nahi hona chaiye…”
Others called the behavior direct. One user said: “Audacity,” and another added: “The clause of threatening the motorist should also be added.”
