The Blinkit delivery agent, whose video of falling daily earnings went viral recently, sparking public outrage, met Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha.

Chadha invited Thapliyal ji, who hails from Uttarakhand, to his residence for lunch. The meeting came days after the MP raised concerns in Parliament about poor wages, long working hours and lack of social security for gig workers.

Thapliyal Ji later posted clips of his meeting with the MP on his Instagram account. In the videos, he described Chadha as a friendly and approachable person. He said he felt heard and respected during the interaction.

During their conversation, the delivery manager talked about the daily difficulties that delivery partners face. These factors included long and unpredictable work hours, fluctuating income, pressure from algorithm-based targets, and the absence of proper grievance redress systems or basic protections.

The video, which recently resurfaced online, sparked sharp reactions from users who questioned whether these profits were fair or sustainable.

Sharing the video on X, Chadha described the situation as “systematic exploitation hidden behind apps and algorithms.”

He said India’s growing digital economy must ensure fair wages, reasonable working hours and social security for those who keep these platforms running.

This incident has fueled talks about regulating independent work in the country. Many social media users and labor rights advocates have called for stronger legal protections and greater accountability from platform companies.
