Deepinder Goyal has finally responded to the growing hype and backlash around Temple, as a health monitor was spotted on him during a Raj Chamani broadcast on YouTube. When doctors and influencers started questioning the authenticity of the online device, the Zomato founder clarified that the product was not yet released to the public.
On Friday, January 9, Goyal took to X to share a post titled, “A gentle reminder to all concerned doctors and/or influencers.” He explained that no commercial had been released and people were jumping to conclusions too early.
A gentle reminder to all doctors involved and/or influencers. We have not made any general commercial announcements about Temple yet. We have not released any official data to measure the performance of the devices. Much work is still underway. We are months away from presenting the preview… pic.twitter.com/WHkdiv6hfW

“We haven’t made any public commercials about Temple yet. We haven’t released any official data benchmarking the devices. There’s still a lot of work in progress; we’re months away from offering preview devices to the public, if ever,” Goyal wrote.
Deepinder Goyal’s response came days after users flooded the internet with speculations about a small device that was placed near Goyal’s temple during a podcast. Soon after, medical professionals and health influencers began questioning the wearable device’s accuracy and scientific backing despite the lack of public details about it.
Explaining the irony of the situation, Goyal wrote, “You are advising people not to buy a device that is ‘uncertified’ and not even available for order or pre-order yet. This is ridiculous.”
Deepinder Goyal ensures product transparency going forward
In the same post, he continued to reassure critics that details will be shared once they decide to sell the product. “We will share all the science if we decide to sell Temple. You can be the judge and give all your advice at that moment. Until then, be curious and encourage Indian startups? Your doubts are valuable, but timely,” he continued.
The buzz around the temple
After Goyal’s podcast went live, social media users were quick to point out the sleek gold and silver sensor located near his temple. The device, called Temple, is a wearable device designed to continuously monitor blood flow in the brain in real time.
Worn near the temple, the sensor tracks blood flow in the brain. The area is rarely monitored outside clinical settings. The idea for the wearable device is based on Deepinder Goyal’s personal research on the ‘gravitational aging hypothesis’. According to a report by Mint, he has invested $25 million (Rs 225 crore) of his personal funds to develop the initiative.
