People often customize their cars with premium interiors, high-end gadgets, or unique paintwork, but a man has taken customization to another level by purchasing one of the most expensive and meaningful number plates for his luxury car. A viral video shows a red Mahindra electric car with a special number plate reading “Ram,” blending deep religious faith with an upscale modern lifestyle.

When the luxury electric car hit the road, onlookers were amazed not only by the car’s sleek design, but also by the importance and cost associated with the custom number plate. The name “Ram”, revered by millions, immediately attracted attention.

Reactions on social media

The video, which was shared on Instagram, quickly gained traction. Shortly after the clip went viral, social media users flooded the comments section with praise and admiration. Many praised the owner for proudly displaying his faith, while others expressed their devotion through enthusiastic chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’.

“Awesome,” one user commented.

Another said: “Come to Rajasthan, you will see both Shyam and Ram.”

One person wrote: “Del git lea. Hats off to the man.”

The most expensive number plate in India

In November 2025, Haryana wrote history by selling a vehicle registration number, HR88B8888, for a staggering Rs 1.17 lakh crore in the state’s VIP vehicle number auction. The number plate, which has multiple meanings, has become the most expensive car number ever sold in the country. The number HR88B8888 is a special vehicle registration because the letter B resembles the number 8, which looks like a continuous line of eighths.

Let’s decipher the number. The HR department shows that the car is registered in Haryana, while 88 is the Regional Transport Office (RTO) code specified in the state. Then comes the letter B which represents the series issued by the RTO and 8888 is the unique four-digit registration number.

Other number plates that set records

The Lamborghini Urus Performanceante in Kochi, Kerala was given the plate KL07DG0007 for Rs 45.99 lakh in the past. A major James Bond fan bought the number 0007 of his Toyota Fortuner for Rs 34 lakh. Other luxury cars also have expensive plates, like a Porsche Boxster with number plate KL 01 CK 0001, which was purchased for Rs 31 lakh. A businessman from Telangana paid around Rs 25.5 lakh for TN 09 9999, which he used in his Land Cruiser LC300.
