Hill Station Locations: Once winter starts, only one thought comes to my mind – that of seeing snowfall somewhere, but once I make the plan, the first name that comes to my mind is Shimla and Manali. Then when you see news of long queues of traffic jams, exorbitant hotel prices, and crowds on social media, the whole mood turns cold. Many people cancel their trips just for this reason. It seems as if these two places are the only options to see snow in India. If you also want to enjoy the snowfall this time by avoiding crowds, then bookmark these spots now.

Shimla Manali is not the only places to see snow. Places like Kufri, Tirthan Valley, Shuja, Chitkul, Auli and Munsiyari offer less crowds, beautiful views and true peace. This time avoid the traffic and enjoy the snowfall in these serene mountainous places.

1. Cauvery (Himachal Pradesh) Cauvery is a small but very beautiful place near Shimla. When there is heavy traffic towards Manali, Cauvery becomes a good option. Here we get good snow in winter and the whole area looks like a blank sheet of paper. Horse riding, snow activities and an open view of the mountains double the fun here. This place is also suitable for those who come with family, because the atmosphere here is not too crowded.

2. Tirthan Valley (Himachal Pradesh) If you want to get away from the noise and spend some time amidst nature, then Tirthan Valley will win your heart. There are small riverside lodges here, where as soon as you wake up in the morning, you can see the mountains and trees in front of you. The whole view changes when it snows in winter. Due to the lack of crowding, you can walk around comfortably. This place is very popular with couples and solo travellers.

3. Shuja, Himachal Shuja is still not on the tourist map much, and that is its biggest specialty. This small village, about 3 hours away from Manali, looks like a postcard during snowfall. Pine forests everywhere with snow on them seem like a dream. Here there is less traffic disturbance and more peace. If you want a truly peaceful snow experience, don’t ignore Shuja Island.

4. Chitkul (Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh) Chitkul is among the last inhabited villages in India. It may be a long journey to get here, but the view is heartwarming. In winter, the entire village is covered with snow. There is so much peace here that the hustle and bustle of the city is not remembered. This place is a treasure for adventure lovers and photography lovers.

5. Auli, Munsiyari and Chakrata (Uttarakhand) Not only in Himachal, but also in Uttarakhand, snowfall can be seen well. Auli is famous for skiing and it looks very beautiful during snowfall. Munsiyari offers a view of huge mountains and in winter the view here is also white. Chakrata is a relatively quiet hill station where there are less crowds and more nature.
