An emotional moment from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh caught the attention of many online after Shikha Gautam secured 113th rank in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) civil services examination. A video clip showing her grandfather breaking down in tears while talking about her success was widely circulated on social media.

Shikha Gautam, a resident of Ambedkar Nagar Buddh locality in Bulandshahr, has secured 113th rank in the prestigious UPSC exam. According to a report in Jagran, she achieved the feat in her second attempt.

According to the report, her father, Premchand, works as a class IV employee at Gandhi Kanya Inter College in Sayana. He said that he always prioritizes his children’s education and encourages them to achieve their goals.

According to him, his children have always worked hard and never let him down. He said that Sheikha’s achievement is a dream come true for the family and a moment of great happiness.

Sikha Singh’s grandfather gets emotional

An emotional video shared by News24 journalist Shahnawaz drew attention to Shikha’s story. The clip shows her grandfather crying after talking about his granddaughter’s achievement. He was also reportedly working as a laborer.

The clip sparked many emotional reactions from viewers.

Shikha Gautam’s academic journey

Shikha completed her education through Uttar Pradesh Board. Jagran reported that the girl passed her secondary school examination in 2011 from Chaudhary Virpal Singh Inter College in Bada village.

In 2013, she completed her intermediate studies from Gandhi Pal Niketan Kanya Inter College. Later, in 2016, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the School of Intellectual Property.

She continued her academic journey and completed the Basic Training Certificate (BTC) course from the same college in 2018.

After that, Shikha moved to Mukherjee Nagar in Delhi to prepare for the civil services exam. Although she did not pass the exam on her first attempt, she continued her preparations with determination and eventually passed the exam on her second attempt.

Shikha Singh Family Background

Sheikha comes from a family of five siblings and is the third of four sisters. Her elder sister, Jyoti, works as a teacher in a higher primary school in Bahraich, while her other sister, Neha, is also a teacher in Bihar. Her younger sister Manisha is currently preparing for the UPSC exam while her brother Monu works as a health coach. Their mother Devi is a housewife.

Sheikha told the outlet that she regularly studies for 16 hours a day. She also encouraged the aspiring youth to continue working hard with courage and determination. Tell them that constant effort eventually leads to success.
