‘No one here cares about anyone else’: Indian woman says life in New Zealand is boring, misses her gossipy aunts
A woman living in New Zealand talks about her life abroad and compares it to India in a video that caught people’s attention. At first, she seemed unsure about staying there, but as she continued, her perspective became clearer and took an unexpected turn.
The video begins with the woman saying: “I’m thinking of moving back to India. It seems I can’t settle here in New Zealand; my heart isn’t in it.”
Then she talks about her surroundings and daily life. Pointing to her neighborhood, she says: “You see, the people here are very strange. This is my neighborhood in New Zealand, and there is my neighbour’s house, people whose faces I have never seen to this day. Honestly, no one here cares about anyone else.”
She goes on to explain how people there behave, adding: “If someone trespassed on even an inch of their land, they wouldn’t even bat an eye. If a Lamborghini was parked in front of someone’s house, they wouldn’t think about it again. If one of their relatives became a millionaire overnight, they wouldn’t feel an ounce of envy. I mean, the rest of the world can go to hell for all they care about; they’re only interested in themselves. No jealousy, no competition.” He adds.

At this point, she questions the lifestyle, saying, “Seriously, is this a life? It’s so nice and so boring, and there’s no excitement at all. There’s no one here making trouble, no aunts sitting in the hallways gossiping about each other, no one cares about who ran off with their daughter, or whose daughter-in-law was wearing ‘revealing’ clothes, or who made a fancy necklace, or who got married, or who had a baby, or who got married, or who had a baby, or ‘who’s still waiting Son, I mean no one cares at all, so guys, I’m actually not going back to India.”
Then she finally made her point. “I was simply trying to tell you that life here is so peaceful that concepts like comparison and competition simply do not exist in people’s minds,” she says. “You will not find gossip or drama here, but the sheer joy you will feel in living in harmony with nature. This is the place where you will truly discover the true meaning of life.”

As more people watched it, many shared their thoughts. One user said: “Same vibe here in Australia! No nosy questions, no gossip about who drives or how big their house is. The best part? People don’t judge you honestly, no matter who you are or what you do. No jealousy for success. It’s a peaceful energy, live and let live. I miss the warmth sometimes, but that non-judgmental respect? An absolute blessing to the soul.”
Another wrote: “Sarcasm at its peak.”
One person joked: “I wouldn’t move to New Zealand if they didn’t want to practice chugli. Chugli is the old people’s favorite hobby.”
“That’s absolutely true. My friend said the same thing about New Zealand. Same thing in the US too,” one person said.
