In fact, a two-week ceasefire has been in place between the two parties since April 8, and it could be extended in the event of talks. At the same time, in order to put pressure on Iran, America has blocked its ports and detained a ship as well, while Iran controls important sea routes such as the Strait of Hormuz, through which 20 to 25 percent of the world’s oil and gas passes.
