A group of friends who were enjoying a vacation at a resort in the Philippines received the shock of their lives after finding a snake inside the hotel’s toilet. What initially looked like a clogged toilet quickly turned into a scary moment when the creep suddenly emerged from the bowl.
The incident occurred at a resort in Salvador Benedicto, located within the Northern Negros Natural Park in the Philippines, according to The Sun newspaper. The clip has now gone viral online, with many people reacting in disbelief after learning that the snake may have been a king cobra.
Friend thought the toilet was blocked
According to The Sun, five friends were staying at the resort when one of them entered the bathroom and noticed something unusual inside the toilet bowl.
At first, he reportedly thought the toilet had not been flushed properly because he saw a dark shape inside the water. While trying to clean it, he flushed the toilet again.
But moments later, a snake suddenly appeared from the pipes under the toilet seat.
Panicked, the man ran back to alert his friends. However, they initially thought he was joking or exaggerating the situation. The group did not realize the danger until they examined the bathroom themselves.

A video of the incident later appeared online. In the clip, one of the guests carefully lifts the toilet lid while holding a long stick. The camera then captures the snake slowly moving inside the toilet before raising its head.
The reptile can also be seen moving its tongue while staring in the direction of the person recording the video. The footage shows the group trying to keep their distance while checking if the snake is alive.
One of the guests, Dranrip Teodoso, told The Sun that the group initially thought it was just a harmless water snake. Hotel staff were later informed about the reptiles.
The Internet says it looks like a king cobra
After the video was shared online, many social media users and reptile enthusiasts claimed that the snake appeared to be a king cobra, one of the most venomous snakes in the world.
The post was also shared on X, where it attracted great attention and reactions from users.
One user joked: “I won’t care for the rest of the holiday.”

“What even is this?” Someone else wrote.
One user added: “This means their toilets are very clean. I can’t imagine a snake living in a drain.”

According to local authorities cited by The Sun, king cobra sightings have reportedly occurred before in Salvador Benedicto. Superintendent Gina Jiranjaya said officials are now investigating the matter further.
