Latest update:
A sudden power outage at Six Flags Over Texas left coaster riders stranded hundreds of feet above the ground as videos of the evacuation spread online.

All visitors were dropped off safely
Power suddenly went out at Six Flags Over Texas, turning an ordinary day at the park into a tense experience for many visitors. The power outage brought several rides to a halt in the air, including some of the park’s largest rollercoasters, while videos from the scene quickly spread online.
Many people were particularly shocked after seeing riders stranded hundreds of feet above the ground before being directed to emergency stairs attached to the tracks. The clips sparked strong reactions online, with users describing the situation as “terrifying” and “a nightmare for anyone afraid of heights.”
Riders stranded high above the ground
According to Firstpost, the power outage occurred after an outside construction crew accidentally damaged an underground power line, cutting power across the park. The sudden outage forced several rides to stop immediately, including The Titan and Mr Freeze rollercoasters.
One of the most widely shared videos showed nearly 30 riders stuck at the top of The Titan coaster, about 245 feet above the ground. The train stopped near the highest point of the journey, leaving passengers suspended in the air.

Park workers later began evacuating passengers one by one. Visitors were carefully unbuckled and guided down a narrow staircase connected to the path. Strong winds and extreme altitude made the scene even more tense for both riders and online viewers.
Viral video sparks reactions online
The eviction clip quickly racked up millions of views on X, with many social media users reacting to the terrifying images.
“As someone who suffers from acrophobia, walking on those elevated trails would seem like a horror movie to me,” one person wrote.
Another commented: “This is an absolute nightmare for anyone with a fear of heights. Going down those narrow stairs is probably scarier than the actual journey.”
One said: “My worst nightmare! I need someone to hold my hand.” Another added: “Someone really thought this plan was foolproof.”
Many viewers also pointed out how dangerous the stairs were, especially since there was only a small handrail separating passengers from the steep slope below.
Park assures everyone was safe
The disruption also affected indoor attractions. According to Firstpost, people waiting near Mr Freeze’s coaster said the lights suddenly went out before announcements confirmed a power outage across the park.
Six Flags spokesman Kyle Perez later reportedly said that emergency crews had safely evacuated all stranded guests from the affected rides. No injuries were reported during the incident.
The park closed early after a power outage, and affected visitors were given free return tickets. Power was later restored by Oncor Electric Delivery, and the park reopened the next morning as scheduled.
