Many people would like to travel more but feel that they cannot do so because of their regular jobs. They often think that seeing the world means leaving a stable career behind. However, one travel creator believes that it is possible to enjoy work and travel with the right planning.
Lifestyle and travel creator Annie Sharma shared how she manages frequent trips while holding down her full-time 9-to-5 job. She says people don’t always need to choose between their career and their passion. According to her, proper planning, saving money and using time wisely can make traveling possible.
Annie Sharma plans trips months in advance
Annie explained that planning ahead helps her better manage her travel goals. They usually prepare for their trips about two months before departure. This allows her to estimate costs, save enough money, and determine how many days off work she needs.
“I usually don’t take spontaneous trips because this helps me calculate how much money I need to save, how much I will spend, and how many vacations I will take,” she says.

Instead of taking very short breaks, Annie prefers longer vacations of about 10 days. She says this helps her combine weekends with her travel plans and have more time to explore new places.
“What this helps me do is have two weekends during my trip,” she explains. “I can explore the place on the weekends, and on weekdays I can also work remotely.”
Working remotely helps her continue traveling
Annie said having a remote job was an important part of maintaining her lifestyle. Besides her regular work, she also makes money through social media content, brand partnerships and occasional sponsored trips, which helps cover some of the travel costs.
She ended her video by sharing a message for people who think they have to quit their jobs to follow their dreams. “So the point is, you don’t have to quit your job to pursue your passion because everyone on social media says you do. Sometimes, all it takes is better planning,” she says.
She also wrote in the caption: “While everyone is quitting their jobs to travel full time, can you?”
Meanwhile, one user responded to her post by saying: “Worth a listen.”
