The ancient Kolhampur Mata Temple located in Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh is the center of deep faith of devotees. It is believed that by having darshan of the Mother Goddess and worshiping with a true heart, eye-related diseases are cured and vision is restored. According to Mahant Deendayal Vaishya of the temple, there has been an uninterrupted flame burning here continuously for the past 40 to 50 years, and no one has been able to know its depth yet. It is believed that after seeing this holy light, eye problems can be cured by applying ghee extracted from it in the eyes. Mahant says people from every corner of the country come here to lodge their complaints. One time, a girl who had been abandoned by doctors, but whose sight was restored thanks to her mother, also came here. However, this is entirely a matter of faith and religious belief. Before using such things, make sure to take doctors advice. A large crowd gathers here during Navratri and special occasions, where devotees not only get relief from physical suffering but also experience mental peace.
