When the microphone was in her hand and the cameras were in front of her, Jinji, without saying anything bitter, made such movements with her fingers that the spectators began to scratch their heads. These three unique gestures are becoming more widespread than logos
In videos that went viral during the demonstration, three main gestures made headlines. The first is the “Korean finger heart” (🫰), which comes from K-pop culture and K-drama and young people express their support and love through it. Many times youngsters also do this gesture in front of Delhi Police, which means keep your heart soft. The second gesture is “little” (🤏, in which a small gap is made between the index finger and thumb to describe something as “very small” or “less”). The third movement is the “nervous signal” (👉👉), in which the index fingers of both hands are touched together, which indicates hesitation and nervousness.

Unique style in front of the camera, journalists were surprised
This experience is also quite new for media professionals doing field reports at Jantar Mantar. When journalists ask young people difficult questions, they use gestures rather than rhetoric and answer in a cold manner. These clips are shared widely online. Young people say this is their new digital way to express their opinions and protest. There is another gesture called Fit Check, where Gen-ji stands up and checks his entire body himself. This is being done because we will face lathi charge from Delhi Police.
