A lizard-like object in a college hostel meal in Bhopal has sparked online outrage as a chef eats it to disprove the claims. What followed raises troubling questions about hygiene and trust

The protesting students submitted a memorandum to the university director demanding the immediate removal of the chaos contractor, a comprehensive investigation into the chaos operations, and compensation for the affected students.
A disturbing incident has come to light in the hostel chaos of a prominent technical university in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, where a student allegedly discovered a lizard in his mixed vegetable dish. When he raised the issue, the staff rejected the claim, insisting it was just a piece of pepper.
The situation took a bizarre turn when the cook ate it in front of stunned students, sparking outrage and raising new questions about food safety amid the chaos on campus.
A shocking discovery at a hostel meal
According to reports, the student found the suspicious object while eating a meal consisting of dal, roti and mixed vegetables. He noticed unusual features in the dish, pointed out what he thought were the legs and eyes of a lizard and brought them to the attention of the inn staff.
However, the staff completely rejected this claim, saying: “It’s just pepper, how can you say otherwise?” In a stunning turn of events, one of the chefs picked up the piece in front of the students, put it in his mouth, chewed it, and repeatedly insisted that it was indeed a bell pepper, in an attempt to prove his point.
The video is spreading quickly
The incident, which reportedly occurred on March 22, was recorded by shocked students and shared widely on social media. Within hours, the video had received millions of views, sparking widespread controversy and concern about food safety in educational institutions.
Following the incident, students staged an immediate protest, raising serious concerns over the quality of food served in the hostel mess. They claimed that things such as insects, dirt and even lizards were found in their meals on multiple occasions.
Many students claimed that they had expressed concerns about poor hygiene and substandard food quality for several months, but no action was taken by the university administration.
The protesting students submitted a memorandum to the university director demanding the immediate removal of the chaos contractor, a comprehensive investigation into the chaos operations, and compensation for the affected students.
One student expressed his frustration, saying, “We came here to study engineering, yet we are forced to eat lizards in our food. If employees can consume it and still call it capsicum, what does that mean for our health? Would someone consume poison and call it medicine?”
Chaos Manager Defense
Mayhem director Sunil Agarwal confirmed that the object in question was not a lizard but a piece of capsicum. He said: “Our employee demonstrated this by eating it in front of the students, and nothing happened to him.”
Despite the principal’s defense, the students remain unconvinced, arguing that the video clearly shows leg-like features and eyes, characteristics that the pepper does not possess. The incident has once again raised serious questions about food safety standards in school and college dining facilities.
