A Russian woman traveling from Riga, Latvia to Dubai, recently discovered mid-flight that she was the only passenger on the plane. The surreal moment quickly caused an internet sensation after she shared it online.
A commercial flight feels like a private jet
Traveler and Instagram user Marina Gila documented the experience in a short video that she posted on social media. In the clip, the camera slowly pans across the cabin, revealing row after row of completely empty seats.
Instead of the usual noisy cabin full of passengers adjusting seatbelts or juggling carry-on luggage, the plane seemed eerily quiet. The only person visible was Marina herself, sitting comfortably and clearly enjoying the situation.
The on-screen text in the video reads: “When you’re the only passenger on the plane to Dubai on March 8, 2026!” followed by a laughing emoji.
She captioned the clip with a sarcastic remark: “VIP trip from Riga to Dubai.”
The Internet had ideas
As expected, the Internet had a lot to say about this unusual trip.
Many viewers joked that the experience was essentially a free upgrade to a private jet. One commenter quipped that she should retitle the video: “Got a private jet to Dubai.”
Others pointed out the obvious perks of such a trip. From having the freedom to choose any seat to having complete privacy in the cabin, the scenario felt almost like a luxury charter.
Another user joked about the practical benefits: “At least the bathroom is all yours, and you can eat as many snacks as you want.”
Some viewers even imagined what they would do in this situation: sprawl across multiple seats, film a full cabin tour, or pretend they were traveling on a billionaire’s private jet.
