Are we really alone in the universe, or is someone watching us secretly? This old question appeared after astronauts discovered a new being among the stars called 3i/atlas. The discovery raised excitement and anxiety in the scientific community.
The most surprising is that the astronomer at Harvard Avi Lob University believes that this may not be a natural being at all, but rather there is a piece of strange technology that has been deliberately sent towards our solar system. This is not just an issue of astronomical physics. If it is proven that it is correct, it may indicate an unknown threat to humanity.
What is 3i/Atlas?
3i/Atlas is the third being among the stars known in NASA, and is the third of the well -known stars that enter our solar system, and is believed to be the largest that has been discovered ever. It is about 20 km in length, which is an extraordinary, huge body that goes through space.
According to LOB, the object is surrounded by a thick layer of gas and dust, making its structure especially mysterious. It indicates that its path, speed and composition are not similar to any known natural celestial body. This prompted him to point out that he could be a probe or ship sent by an advanced foreign civilization, perhaps with a task we cannot understand yet.
The “dark forests” hypothesis chopping
Lob also connected 3i/Atlas to the “darkest dark forest hypothesis” – a theory indicating that there are countless strange civilizations but remain hidden, for fear of mutual destruction if discovered. If 3i/atlas is already a sign or deliberate device of such civilization, this may mean that the Earth is now visible to them and may be under observation.
This raises an annoying question: Is this a peaceful signal, or the beginning of something much more dangerous?
A divided scientific community
While Lob insists that the unusual behavior of the object requires more investigation, many scientists remain skeptical. They argue that it can simply be the primitive space rock expelled by the forces of gravity for the distant stars. Still, lobe urges caution. He believes that we should not reject the strange theory until all the data available in detail is studied.
When will the closest be?
3i/Atlas is expected to pass the closest to Earth in December, at a distance of about 270 million kilometers. During this time, astronomers around the world will notice closely his behavior to determine its true nature.
This is not the first time that the AVI LOB eyebrows have raised the eyebrows with foreign demands. He previously suggested that another being among the stars, 1i/’oumuamua, was also a strange technique – although this theory is still not proven. Now, with another unusual body heading on our way, some ask: Are these cosmic visitors part of a greater survey? Monitoring missions? Or leads to the first contact?
If the theories of Lope have any truth, the discovery of 3i/Atlas may be either the greatest scientific revelation in history or the largest existential threat we have ever faced.
Currently, scientists and astronauts are watched both the sky with full breathing – whether we really are alone … or if someone, in a far place, is already watching us.
