– First, wash the rice well and soak it for several hours. When the rice is soft, grind it with coconut milk to get a thin paste. After that, add a little yeast to it and leave it covered for a while until light fermentation occurs.

-When the mixture is ready, heat the appam or appachati pan. Pour an amount of the mixture into the mold, and move the mold gently until the mixture spreads to the edges. Now cover it and cook for a few minutes.

-At some point, your dressing will be ready – soft in the middle and slightly crunchy on the edges.

How to apply and enhance the taste
The real joy of appam comes when it is served hot. You can eat it with vegetable curry, coconut chutney or soup.
