A shocking incident has come to light in Karnataka, where Samarthgoda Patel, son of BJP leader Vijayagoda Patel, allegedly assaulted a toll booth employee after asking him to pay the toll.
The altercation, which took place at the Vijayapura-Kalaburagi toll plaza, was captured on a CCTV camera, and the footage has since gone viral on social media.
According to a report by L NDTVSamarthgouda Patil, who was traveling in the black Thar SUV from Vijayapura towards Sindagi, lost his temper when the toll boy asked him to pay the toll amount.

When he identified himself as “Vijayagoda Patel’s son”, the employee reportedly asked him who Vijayagoda was referring to. Angrily, Samartgoda allegedly shouted: “Do you know who my father is??” (Do you know who my father is?) before attacking the toll clerk.
The assaulted employee, identified as Sanjaba, was allegedly beaten by Samarthgoda and his friends before other toll collectors rushed in to stop the attack. The injured worker was later transferred to a nearby hospital for treatment.
It is still unknown whether the toll worker has filed a formal complaint. Additionally, the BJP is yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
Samarthgowda’s father, Vijayagoda (Vijaykumar) Patil, is a BJP leader who has contested several times from Baleshwar constituency since 2008 but is yet to achieve victory. The seat is currently held by MP Patel, Karnataka Industries Minister.
