Homemade perfumes: Perfume is not just a scent, it is your identity. When you walk into a room and a light scent lingers, people remember you with that fragrance, but the truth is that expensive branded perfumes available in the market do not suit everyone’s budget. Furthermore, the strong chemicals in them sometimes cause rashes, allergies, or skin irritation. In such a situation, why not do something different this time? If roses, mojra or lavender are blooming in your balcony or garden, you can prepare your own natural perfume from them. This method is not only easy but also not heavy on the pocket.
The best thing is that you can select the intensity of the fragrance as per your choice. Let’s get to know three flowers of this type and their simple method, with which you can create your own “distinctive scent” while sitting at home.
1. Make a Royal Rose mist from roses that gives a fresh and soft scent all day long.
The rose scent is considered a classic. It smells soft, sweet and comforting. Instead of boiling it directly, it is better to extract it with the help of light steam.
How to make
1. Place an empty glass bowl in the middle of a large bowl.
2. Fill the bowl with fresh rose petals all around.
3. Add enough water to cover the petals, but do not let the water soak into the bowl.
4. Place the lid upside down on the bowl and place ice cubes on top.
5. Heat it over low heat for 20-30 minutes.
The steam will rise and hit the lid, then cool into water droplets and the pure rose extract will collect in the middle bowl. Mix a little glycerin in this extract and fill it in a spray bottle. It will also give light moisture to the skin and a soft scent.
2. Make Mogra perfume oil that lasts for a long time
Mogra perfume is very strong and attractive. If you want the scent to last a long time, an oil-based method is best.
How to make
1. Add ½ cup of unscented coconut oil or jojoba oil to a glass bowl.
2. Put a handful of fresh mogra flowers in it and close the jar.
3. Keep it in sunlight for 24 hours.
4. The next day, filter the flowers and put the new fresh flowers in the same oil.
5. Repeat this step 3-4 times.
Gradually the deep mogra aroma will settle into the oil. Apply the prepared oil on the wrists, behind the ears or neck. It will smell nothing less than any expensive perfume and can comfortably last for 3-4 months.
3. Prepare refreshing cologne with lavender, which gives freshness in the summer.
The scent of lavender is light and refreshing. It is easy to make as a spray.
How to make
1. Fill dried or fresh lavender flowers in a glass jar.
2. Add enough vodka or rubbing alcohol to completely submerge the flowers.
3. Close the jar and leave it in a cool, dark place for a week.
4. Shake lightly once daily.
5. After a week, filter the flowers and add two teaspoons of distilled water.
Now fill it in a spray bottle. This cologne feels especially refreshing in summer and can last for about 6 months.
Some important tips that will make the perfume even better
Always apply perfume to clean, dry skin. Keep the bottle away from sunlight. If you want to increase the intensity of the fragrance, repeat the process of changing the flowers. Do a patch test before using it for the first time. Homemade perfumes are not full of chemicals and are therefore safer for the skin. Moreover, a personal touch is also added to it, which is not present in any ready-made brand.
