Latest update:
In today’s digital age, a new change is seen among GenZ. While the stress of attending every plan, party and event on social media, i.e. FOMO, was prevalent earlier, the JOMO trend is now rapidly growing in place. Young people are now choosing a calm life instead of rushing into everything.

Glad to miss Jomo.
Whereas before everyone was afraid of missing out on something, such as FOMO, the new generation has now completely reversed this thinking. GenZ now releases the pressure of being part of every party, every plan, every trend and adopts the habit of feeling happy even after losing things, like “JOMO”. This new trend shows that it is not necessary to be everywhere, but what is most important is that one chooses peace and happiness.
Until a few years ago, the influence of social media was so great that people wanted to participate in everything. Be it friends parties, trips or any new trend, it seemed important to be present everywhere. If something is neglected, there will be a feeling of inferiority and regret. Because of this, people started to worry more than their needs.
Gradually, this habit turned into pressure. People ignored their own comfort and peace and focused only on keeping up with others. As a result, psychological fatigue, stress, and the habit of self-comparison increased, which began to prove harmful to health in the long term.
Why is the Jomo trend on the rise now?
Now the new generation wants to get out of this pressure. People are tired of being constantly connected to phones and social media. And now they want to make their lives a little slower and calmer. Gomu means intentionally giving up some things and being happy about it too. This means that if you don’t want to go anywhere, you can stay at home without any regrets. This thinking gives people the freedom to live their lives as they wish.
How does lifestyle change?
Now people’s priorities are changing. Earlier, there were plans to go out every weekend, but now people prefer to stay at home and rest. They take time for themselves, read books, spend time with family or simply learn to sit quietly. Besides, people have also started reducing their use of social media. Now feeling every moment is more important than showing it. Importance is given to short but genuine relationships, so that this balance is maintained in life.
