In the digital age, as much as online food delivery has become a convenience, it has also become a cause of strange accidents. A surprising case came to light from the Chinese capital, Beijing, sparking controversy on social media. The case involved a 7-year-old boy, and stealing neighbors’ food was so costly that he had to be hospitalized. The reason was a plate of very spicy food, which the child ate without asking.
The child had to pay a heavy price for stealing food.
According to Chinese media reports, food delivery orders kept outside the home of a family living in Beijing are constantly being stolen. After food disappeared several times, the family decided to teach the thief a lesson. That’s why he deliberately ordered food that was very spicy and full of chili peppers. They had no idea that their food thief was not a major criminal, but an innocent 7-year-old child who lived in the neighborhood. It was said that the child often played outside and loved the taste of the food that the neighbors ordered so much that he would pick up the bag whenever he had the opportunity.
The neighbors intentionally ordered spicy food to teach them a lesson
Like every day, this time too the child picked up the food delivery bag, took it home and ate the entire meal. But this time the story changed. Shortly after eating, the child began experiencing severe stomach pain and vomiting. When his parents saw that his condition was deteriorating, they immediately took him to the hospital. After the examination, the doctors said that the child was suffering from acute gastroenteritis. When his condition became serious, he remained in the hospital for several days.
The child’s family demanded compensation
When the boy’s parents learned that he had eaten the neighbors’ very spicy food, they filed serious accusations against the neighbors. He said the food was ordered to be so spicy as to intentionally harm the child and demanded compensation for the nearly 2,000 yuan spent on treating the child. However, the neighbors facing these accusations clearly denied this. He said the food was his and the one who stole it was a child and it was not his fault.

Social media is divided into two opinions
As soon as this matter came to light, controversy raged on social media. Some sympathize with the child, while many users say that stealing someone’s food without permission is wrong and a lesson had to be learned. Overall, this case also teaches us a lesson that in this era of food delivery, caution is essential and it is equally important to give children an understanding of right and wrong.
