A woman has alleged that an IndiGo pilot didn’t date her on a dating app after she made a joke about getting her money back, an incident that has since drawn attention on social media.

Sharing her experience online, the woman said the conversation ended suddenly after this remark, leaving her sad. “I’m in tears,” she wrote, expressing her disappointment over the exchange.

“IndiGo’s pilot boy is second to none,” she added, followed by a sarcastic remark about “there being no room for funny women in this country.”

The post, which was shared on X by a user identified as avy, contains screenshots of a dating app interaction allegedly involving an IndiGo pilot. The post also includes a photo of the IndiGo pilot standing in front of the plane.

After matching with him, the woman replied to his photo with a cheeky message, writing: “Bro, I still haven’t gotten my flight money back yet.” Moments later, she claimed the pilot didn’t match her on the app, and left her joke unanswered.

Since being posted, the tweet has surpassed 1.2k views and received thousands of likes, reposts and replies, with many users saying the timing of the joke made it particularly relevant.

The statement appears to be a reference to IndiGo’s recent operational turmoil earlier this month, when the airline drew nationwide criticism for flight delays, cancellations and issues with refunds. At the time, many passengers took to social media to voice complaints about delayed refunds and lack of communication.

As a result, many found the interaction to be both funny and painfully accurate. “He didn’t want to be an unofficial customer service executive,” one user joked.

“I think the ‘bhaiya’ in the first conversation itself was a deal breaker, plus given how recent the situation was, it probably wasn’t as funny to them,” another commented.

A third user joked: “In his defence, I started the conversation with the word ‘bahiya.’” One user wrote: “Maybe he’s tired of hearing that every day. “I don’t blame him.”
