Brian Johnson said his connection with Kate Tullo was immediate, though they maintained professional boundaries while working closely on his anti-aging initiative.

Anti-aging influencer and tech entrepreneur Brian Johnson has revealed that he was in a three-year relationship with Kate Tullo, co-founder of his startup Blueprint.

The 48-year-old spoke about his relationship with Tolu – who is 18 years his junior – in a lengthy post on X where he described the 30-year-old Australian woman as his “piece of the puzzle”. In a very personal and romantic post, Johnson said he had “patiently waited 25 years for this kind of partnership.”

Johnson, who is known for his quest to live forever, began the post with a collage of the couple together over the years, saying: “Guys, I have a girlfriend.” He said he understood why people might be shocked, adding that the real explanation was simple: “Her puzzle piece fits mine.”

The American businessman said they were linked by a common passion for neurotechnology. Johnson said their connection was instant, though they maintained professional boundaries while working closely on his anti-aging initiative, Project Blueprint.

Johnson recalls reading The Autobiography of John Adams in his early twenties, and was inspired by the deep emotional and intellectual bond between the Founding Father and his wife, Abigail. He wrote that he wanted a relationship like theirs — “one of the greatest partnerships in American history,” but admitted that his early life did not lead him there.

The tech mogul chronicled his long and sometimes difficult journey to finding a fulfilling relationship. He detailed his early “arranged Mormon marriage” that ended after 13 years because, although functional, it lacked the intellectual and emotional entanglement he craved.

“Years ago, I had an arranged Mormon marriage,” he said. “I wasn’t sure how to explain it. We were functional, but we weren’t John and Abigail. We broke up after thirteen years.”

Johnson explained that Kate was drawn to his work exploring how humans and artificial intelligence could evolve together. Although they come from very different backgrounds – “a 30-year-old Bosnian-American-Australian who once dreamed of working in fashion” – they realized they shared the same intellectual obsession and work ethic.

According to Johnson, their after-hours conversations in his office slowly became the highlight of his day. He admitted that his heart “withdrew” even as his mind insisted that he could never trust again. He wrote that Kate was “luminous” and captivated him with her imaginative, innovative clothes and original way of thinking: “She was art.”

Speaking of Tolo, he said: “What most admires about Kate is her insight and depth of thought. She sees forward, backward and side to side. To her, I feel myopic in my awareness of the world. She can see through others, like an X-ray does. She then structures all that information and puts it together in simple, understandable terms. In ways that allow everyone to win.”

He added of his friend: “She wasn’t chasing luxury brands. Most of her clothes were from a thrift store. It wasn’t about her looks, it was about how her mind worked: original, eccentric, entirely her own. It was art.”

Over time, after a year and a half of unspoken affection, they admitted their feelings for each other. Now, Johnson describes Kate as “Abigail Adams.”

Johnson went on to describe the relationship between Kate, his son Talmage, and himself as a family unit filled with “fast, dark, loud” conversations that feed the soul. He revealed that Talmage is modeling potential partners after Kate.

“My son Talmage, Kate, and I are a family. Nothing makes us happier than to be together. Our conversations are fast, dark, and loud. Family feeds the soul, and we feed. And since my son considers potential partners, he wisely models them after Kate.”

“At this point, Kate and I have become almost one person. We have entire conversations with a single look, sound, gesture, or image,” he wrote.

“I’ve wanted this all my life and have patiently waited 25 years for it to arrive. It’s better than anything I imagined. Lucky for me I found my Abigail Adams,” the post concluded.

Tolo and Johnson are often seen working closely together, most recently after she was tasked with taking care of the biohacker after he posted magic mushrooms on social media.

Tolo was also seen accompanying him to Paris Hilton’s birthday party in February, in addition to appearing in several videos about Blueprint and his various health experiments.

In 2023, during a “Diary of a CEO” podcast with Stephen Bartlett, Johnson confirmed that he was single and revealed that finding a partner who would accept his eccentricities had been difficult. He said his extreme health regimen made it difficult for women to date him.

Brian Johnson is best known for co-founding Braintree, a mobile and web payment solution for e-commerce businesses, which was later acquired by PayPal. After selling his company, Johnson is now dedicated to anti-aging efforts. He is also the founder of Kernel, a neurotechnology company that makes helmets specifically designed to measure brain activities.
