In a bold role change that resonates with thousands of employees, the candidate not only rejected a job offer from a major Indian multinational, but told the recruiter that he had personally “blacklisted” the company.
The incident, which was shared on Reddit, struck a chord with professionals frustrated with toxic work cultures. According to the Redditor, a recruiter from an Indian MNC in the NBFC sector reached out saying that his profile was a perfect fit for the role. Instead of politely declining, the candidate gave a shocking response, “You said your organization has been blacklisted. I have no interest in working with such an organization, please do not call again.”
Then he laughed and hung up.
Why was the National Transitional Council blacklisted?
The man had previously worked with the company as a consultant and came away with a terrible experience. He claimed that the work-life balance is very poor, and there are no proper processes or standard operating procedures. Everything was jugaad and managers would avoid putting anything in writing to escape accountability.
He called the company “one of the worst in terms of WLB, work culture and other fundamental expectations.”
After the call, the Redditor admitted that his reaction may have been somewhat “silly” or “meaningless,” but added: “To turn down an organization and call it a blacklisted company in the face of a recruiter was great… It felt good and relieved.”

He even warned that if they emailed him, he was prepared to send a strongly worded complaint that would “make the CEO cry.”
The Internet reacts
The post has gone viral, with hundreds of comments from people celebrating the move, “Finally, employees are fighting back!”
“This is the energy we all need in 2026,” another user wrote. With another chiming in with frustration, “Recruiters have been ignoring and underestimating candidates for years… Karma is delicious.”
Many of them shared similar stories of toxic MNCs in banking, fintech and NBFCs known for harsh working hours and chaotic processes.
