A company employee surprised many people online by sharing how he managed to save his entire salary while living comfortably in Goa. He said every monthly expense, from rent and monthly payments to groceries, is covered by income he earns from a side hustle. His full-time job is “demanding”, but he does not use a single rupee of this salary to meet daily needs. Instead, this money goes directly into savings and investments.

The man said he had listed his Mahindra Thar on a rental platform, and the profits from the bookings covered all his costs. In his post on Reddit, he wrote: “My Side Hustle pays every bill and EMI, allowing me to save my entire salary!”

He shared that he earned more than Rs 37,000 in just 14 days through this rental service. Although the original post has been deleted, screenshots are still widely circulating online.

How does a side hustle work?

“Yes, I have a demanding full-time job, but I cracked the code to make my assets work for me,” he wrote in the now-deleted post.

He explained that renting his Mahindra Thar in Goa gives him enough income to cover all loans and regular expenses every month. The man also added: “My entire salary from my main job goes directly to savings and investments. I save 100 percent of my income.”

The post was shared on December 3 and received more than 3,500 upvotes before being removed. Many users asked for tips, while others were curious about permits, legal rules, and safety concerns.

When someone asked about the papers, he replied: “My car is legal. I have all the permits and licenses to rent.” He said illegal rentals by people using private “whiteboard” cars make it more difficult for those who follow the rules, especially since he has spent nearly a thousand on the proper permits.

What Reddit users said

People had mixed reactions to his story. One user warned of the risk of damage, writing that tourists might misuse the car. The man replied: “Insurance takes care of most things, and the platform sometimes pays a certain amount.”

Another person expressed concerns about scams in cities like Kolkata, where rental cars were reportedly stolen and sold. “It happens in every state,” the man replied. “I have a GPS tracking device added to my car. It automatically turns off the engine when I cross the border.”

Others praised him for using his assets intelligently. One user wrote: “Congratulations on earning this income… I wish you luck.” Another said: “Wow, this is so cool! Can you share tips?”
