Rameshwaram Café, one of the most popular restaurants in Bengaluru, is known for its ghee-rich dishes and delicious South Indian cuisine that is a must-try for locals and tourists alike. Its popularity is so massive that it inspired a bizarre viral video, in which it turns the cafe’s signature ghee podi dosa into the center of a hilarious social media moment.

Shot in the busy Church Street area, the video featuring Bengaluru-based content creator Prasanna M Vishwakarma has now garnered over 16,000 likes and hundreds of comments, and has gone viral across social media feeds. In this reel, Prasanna holds a banner containing a QR code and a familiar message but with a humorous twist. Instead of asking for money for food or survival, a handwritten sign said: “I need money for Rameshwaram Cafe, ghee podi dosa.”

At Rameshwaram Café, a typical meal for one person costs around Rs. 150-250 depending on the choice of dishes. The price of premium ghee budi dosa is around Rs. 80-100, offering a rich, buttery flavor with a spicy kick.

The comments section is just as entertaining as the video itself. Many users jokingly described him as a “modern beggar” and ridiculed the idea of asking for money to eat at a well-known cafe. Some suggested cheaper alternatives like Indira Canteen, while others wondered if he had actually managed to eat ghee pudi dosa after shooting for Reel. Another user also commented asking Prasanna about his overall collection.

Not everyone took it seriously. A few users felt the video mocked real poverty and questioned whether such content was appropriate. Others defended it, saying it was clearly meant as satire and reflects how social media often exaggerates everyday desires for entertainment.
