Nita Ambani at Swadesh Event: Recently, Nita Ambani, founder and chairman of Reliance Foundation, organized a grand event in Mumbai. The name of this event was ‘Swadesh’ and skilled artists, artisans and artisans including fashion designers and many Bollywood stars from all over the country participated in it. India’s rich craft heritage takes center stage in Swadesh celebrations in December. On this festival, Nita Ambani paid tribute to this handcrafted installation of toys, clothes, wooden crafts and sculptures made by skilled artisans from across the country. Nita Ambani has always believed in paying respect to Indian craftsmanship and its artisans. It is believed that it is possible to keep these traditions alive only thanks to the country’s skilled craftsmen.

Nita Ambani hosted the ‘Swadesh’ event to promote traditional and local arts. During this time Nita Ambani looked very beautiful. On the show, she wore a mixed blue and silver Swadesh Banarasi saree. Beautiful work has been done on this saree with beautiful meena motifs and traditional Kadwa weaving technique. Nita Ambani looked very pretty in a custom Manish Malhotra blouse with polki border, handmade divine buttons and antique spinel tassels from her personal collection, and a bindi on her forehead.

Many national award winning artisans along with Ms. Nita Ambani attended the event. This included Padma Shri awardee (2021) Shri Biren Basak, famous for his Tant and Jamdani weaves. Painter Sri V. Panneerselvam Thanjavur was present. He has been honored with Shilp Guru Award (2019) and National Award (2011). Besides, Shri Shammi Banu Sharma, 7th generation miniaturist and National President’s Award winner (2014) was also present. Besides, Mr. Ghanshyam Sarode, renowned textile designer of Petani and handloom revivalist and Ms. Gunjan Jain, Odisha Ikat textile artist and National Award winner (2024) were also present.

Many movie stars also participated in this program, including the famous fashion designer Manish Malhotra. Many big celebrities including Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh, Madhuri Dixit-Shreeram Nene, Sonam Kapoor, Ananya Panday, Janhvi Kapoor, Genelia D’Souza-Ritesh Deshmukh, National Crush Annette Padda also became a part of this beautiful evening. They all looked very beautiful in traditional clothes. All this caught everyone’s attention at the Swadesh flagship store event.
