Batora pizza recipe
A video shared on X shows a vendor in his street-side shop. He starts by taking some flour and spreading it with a large slotted spoon. Next, he puts in some pizza sauce, some leaves, chicken pieces, chicken pepperoni, some seasoning, and loads of cheese.
Since it looks exactly like pizza, he then covers the toppings with another layer of flour. After that, he places it inside a frying pan with boiling oil and fries it like a bhatura. I’m not going to lie, it actually looks exactly like stuffed bhatura. Then the person cuts it in half, and takes out the melted cheese.
How did social media react?
In a short time, the comments section was filled with reactions from many users. “The mixture is very similar to our bhatura,” one X user commented. Another wrote: “Haha. Wait what? How does it taste?” One of them said: “I mean, considering what we did with pizza and pasta, this is nothing.”
While some users shared that the dish is not bahatura but calzone. “This appears to be nothing more than a round calzone,” one wrote. One wrote: “This is not batura! This is a version of calzone!”
One comment read: “This is how they will take revenge for Indian pizza?” “You are disgusting,” one person wrote. Another wrote: “Disgusting? From what angle? Looks amazing.”

What exactly is this dish?
Some users have mentioned that this dish is not “pizza bhatura” but a calzone, an oven-baked Italian dish made of pizza dough, folded into a half-moon shape, and stuffed with typical pizza ingredients such as cheese, meat, and vegetables, and often served with marinara sauce.
