Instant Poha-Semolina Breakfast – Step by Step Recipe
1. Wash and prepare the poha
Take 2 cups of poha and wash it well with water 3-4 times. After washing, leave it for 5-7 minutes until the poha becomes a little soft. Later, mash it slightly with your hands and make it like kachumar, so that preparing the dough becomes easier.
2. Soak semolina in yoghurt or light lassi
– Take one cup of fine semolina. Add half a bowl of lassi or yoghurt and mix.
-Keep in mind that semolina should not be thick or dry, nor should it be too thin.
– If you do not have whey, you can use it by mixing some water with yoghurt.
Cover the semolina mixture and leave it for 10 minutes. The semolina will swell and become like flour.
3. Prepare instant red pepper sauce
Place it in the grinder bowl.
-7-8 soaked red pepper
– 1 large tomato
– A little ginger and garlic
-salt
– Chili soaking water (it will be a good colour)
Grind everything and prepare instant red sauce.
Now heat some oil in a frying pan. Add some cumin and black mustard to it and crackle it. Add the sauce only when the cumin seeds are well roasted. This adds a smoky flavor to the sauce. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the color darkens and the consistency becomes slightly thick.

4. Prepare the poha and semolina dough
Place the soaked semolina and poha in a bowl.
Add finely chopped coriander and salt to taste.
Mix everything and make a smooth paste. If necessary, apply light water or some oil to your hands.
5. Make tikki for steaming
Apply some oil on your hands and make a round tiki the size of a lemon. Keep it a little thick. Now grease a wire rack and place the tikki in it. Heat water in a pan, then place a plate on top of it and cover it. Steam over medium heat for 7-8 minutes.
The tikki will be steamed perfectly and will not stick together.
6. Fry the tikki after applying the tempering.
Heat 1-1.5 teaspoon of oil in a frying pan.
In that-
– Rye
-cumin
– A little chaat masala
– Chopped coriander
-Now add the steamed tikki and stir for 1-1.5 minutes until it becomes slightly crispy.
– Sprinkle a little chili flakes on top.
-If you like, you can also add white sesame seeds.
The look will make your mouth water as soon as you see it.
