Court corridors are usually associated with serious faces, black coats, and hushed conversations. But a widely circulated video from Delhi turns that picture on its head. Reportedly shot on the day of nomination to the Delhi Bar Council, the clip shows a group of lawyers joyfully dancing to the tunes of loud dhol music. The fit defenders can be seen clapping, stepping to the beat and cheering each other on.

For a moment, it looks less like a legal process and more like a celebration immediately following the wedding procession.

What happens in the viral clip

In the video, a formally dressed lawyer steals the show, confidently matching his steps with the dhol player standing nearby. He is surrounded by his colleagues, some recording on their phones, others joining the dance with wide smiles.

The venue appears to be located outside the court complex, with palm trees and parked vehicles visible in the background. There is no sense of chaos, just laughter and collective energy. The mood suggests the pride, excitement and camaraderie of another procedural day.

The Internet reacts to entertainment

Social media users were quick to jump into the comments section. One comment read: “Look at my lawyer.” Another user joked: “Bail sir fo meri.” Another comment said: “Look at my lawyer.. we will do this.” Many praised the lawyers for showing a lighter side of the profession. Others described it as “useful” and “unexpectedly fun.”

Why does Nomination Day matter?

Far from a viral moment, the video coincides with an important phase in the Delhi Bar Council election cycle. The period for filing nomination papers for the upcoming BCD elections starts from January 17, 2026 to January 24, 2026. Papers must be submitted by 4:00 PM on working days at the Delhi Bar Council office in Siri Fort.

This step determines who will officially enter the electoral race. It is a critical milestone for advocates who aim to represent the legal community.

What happens after nominations?

According to the Bar Council of India, the formal nomination day for presentation will be held on 22 February 2026, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Delhi Supreme Court premises on Sher Shah Road. After vetting nominations, qualified candidates move to the election campaign phase. This includes networking with fellow advocates, discussions on reforms and setting visions for the Council. Ultimately, the vote will decide who governs the professional conduct, welfare procedures and representation of lawyers in Delhi.
