A young Indian young woman to Europe turned into a stressful ordeal after being stolen on his passport, his American raising, credit and money cards during a short period in the Barcelona cafe. The accident, which was shared by the founder of Blockwee Ayush Panchmiya on X (previously Twitter), has gained widespread attention and pushed his colleagues travelers to rethink the safety of travel.
“I have lost my passport, the US visa, and all my money … in Spain. Let me walk for you within 48 hours of my life on my travel and how I got out of it,” he wrote on X.
“A few seconds changed everything”
Panchmiya, who has just arrived in Barcelona with his team after attending ETHCC at the Cannes Festival, stopped at Starbucks to join work.
“We just fell in Barcelona after a heavy week in Ethcc. Then the businessman rose outside the cafe to receive a call and left his black bag tucked under the table, which he did “a hundred times on such trips.” But after a moment, he went.
“Those few seconds have changed everything,” Panchmiya remembers his position. The bag carried everything essential like its passport, its American consistency, credit card and cash.

Panchmiya then rushed to Starbucks and asked them to check CCTV shots, but he was told that the police would first need to intervene.
“Therefore, I rushed to the nearest station, presented a report, and explained everything in detail,” he added. At the local police station, he submitted a detailed report. But there was another shock waiting.
The police told him: “It will take 15 to 20 days even to review CCTV footage.” His trip to India was just two days.

With the closing of the Indian embassy during the weekend, Panchmiya had to wait until Monday morning. Once it was opened, he went personally to explain the situation. Their response was fast and decisive.
“They entered as soon as they opened. I can’t thank them enough; they have issued an emergency certificate (temporary passport) in just 4 to 5 hours. In the same evening, I returned on a trip to India,” Panchmiya continued.

“If you travel often, especially throughout Europe, this can happen to anyone. Even if you are careful. Even if you are“ experienced ”. At that moment, the confusion is real.
He also gave practical advice: “Do not panic. Immediately go to the closest police station. Make a report. You can walk in your embassy personally. Don’t send an email or call. Explain everything clearly. Request an emergency certificate. If your trip is close, they can issue one in hours.”
