A lawyer who attended a Delhi HC hearing on Sonamarg’s suspension impressed the judge with her quick arguments during the virtual proceedings.

A Delhi High Court judge this week made an unusual comparison while hearing an online case, likening a lawyer’s quick arguments to singer Shankar Mahadevan’s famous song gasped. The remarks came after the lawyer appeared for the hearing from a snow-covered balcony in Sonamarg, Jammu and Kashmir.
Advocate Shreya Smriti joined the virtual proceedings at a time when temperatures in the hill station dropped to around minus 23 degrees Celsius.

Justice Saurabh Banerjee, who was presiding over the case, commented on the speed of its arguments. “Who is the singer who sang Breathless?” he asked, referring to the 1998 hit by Shankar Mahadevan, known for his constant and fast delivery.
