The Spanish influencer Miri Callas and her partner, Alejandro Sayed, saw their planned romantic smugglers to Puerto Rico at the end before he started – all because they relied on a chat for the last word on their travel documents.

Miri, the influencer, who shares her trips and lifestyle with thousands of followers, decided to accelerate her research before the trip by asking the question if they needed a visa. The answer was simple “no”, which seemed clear enough.

But these differences have passed. For Spanish passports holders – and other countries in the American visa waiver program – “no visa” does not mean “no requirements”. Travelers still have to apply online to get Esta (electronic travel license) before riding a trip, NDTV said.

Believing that they are completely prepared, the couple advanced and seized flights, hotels and activities. Everything was set until the airport’s checkpoint became a sudden reality scene. Without the approved Esta, ascending to the climb was not an option.

Later, the Mary shared a video clip on Tiktok and YouTube the next day, and showed a clear insult to her, walking at the station while Alejandro tried to calm her.

“I always do a lot of research, but I asked ChatGPT, and they said no,” referring to the visa requirements, it is involved in her video.

Soon the viral video went, attracted thousands of views and ignited hot discussions in the comments.

According to The New York Times Post, some people criticized the couple to rely entirely on artificial intelligence instead of checking the dual official travel information. One user wrote: “If you are crossing the environment and listening to your entire journey on what Chatbot says, you are already asking a problem,” wrote one of the users.

Others were more sympathetic, noting that the response was not completely wrong – only incomplete. They suggested that confusion may have arisen on how to formulate the question.

Puerto Rico is an unconventional American region, which means that it follows the same rules of immigration as the mainland. Citizens from the countries of the visa waiver, such as Spain, do not need a traditional visa, but they still have to complete the ESTA request before traveling. This requirement applies even if the journey is only for Puerto Rico, and the airlines will not allow the passengers to run without it, because entering American lands without illegal permission.
