These days, a video is going viral on social media, in which it is claimed that the balloon-like puri can now be prepared not in a pan, but in a cooker, even without oil. In the video, a woman sprays a little oil inside the cooker, then adds 4-5 puris and closes the lid. After some time, when the cooker is opened, the fully swollen wort can be seen coming out of it. Many people were surprised by this trick and started calling it their new cooking trick.
But as this video reached people, questions began to arise about its authenticity. In fact, according to basic cooking science, it is necessary to fry the puri in hot oil to make them puffy. Once the surface of the puri comes into contact with the hot oil, it instantly cooks and steam begins to form inside, causing it to swell. It is almost impossible for purees to rise this way in a pot without oil.
