One of the most amazing tourist attractions in the quiet place of Wat Khonaram Temple on the island of Ko Samawi in Thailand is the preserved body Luang Fu Da Ving (also known as Dang Piasilo), a monk who died in peace while contemplating at the age of 79 more than 50 years ago. What makes the width unusual not just a stabilization position or glass coffin, but the bowl now calls it to the home.

The Luang Pho Daeng’s body was found in 1973 and kept in a glass wardrobe in the contemplative lotus position, and remained surprisingly reserved to this day. Despite the extreme drought, the radiological tests conducted in the early first decade of the twentieth century showed that most of its organs remained intact, but they shrunk. Its internal organs and brain tissue are still largely intact after decades.

Moreover, GECKOS/Lizards and other small reptiles have resided in the monk cavities, including his mouth, caguate, throat, and laying their eggs under dried skin.

The monks have covered the hollow eye sockets, Luang Fu Da Veneg, with sunglasses to give him an optimistic appearance, and even humorous in an attempt to alleviate the frightening atmosphere of the temple visitors, especially children.

Who is Luang Fu Dang

Luang Fu Da Ving expected his death and asked to offer his body as a reminder that life is passing and that every moment is important. Its preserved shape has a deep spiritual and cultural value. It inspires both amazement and reflection in visitors as a strong representation of the higher discipline of the monk and its dedication, contemplating even after death.

Despite sometimes doubts – some people believe that the remains can be wax – originality has been accepted on a wider scale. The lottery tickets are sold closely because many residents consider its presence sacred and believe that it brings good luck.

Buddhism rituals

Buddhism carries special rituals that distinguish it from many other religions. Its central idea is to overcome the birth and death cycle. Buddhist monks deliberately solve themselves while they are still alive through an extended and strict meditation process that can last thousands of days, making it one of the rare and most extreme rituals.

Luang Pho Daeng is still attracting pilgrims, visitors and researchers to Watt Khonaram after more than half a century of his death. It is a witness to its strange physiology, spiritual heritage, and interesting interaction between animals and human residues – a continuous reminder of the amazing ways that nature, death and life intertwine.
