
He’s just had a major acting honor, but now his life revolves around something more personal — fatherhood. And yes, he admits he’s better at changing diapers than facing the camera.

Traveling for work was different this time. Leaving town meant leaving his newborn behind. For the first time, the professional journey felt emotionally heavy and surprisingly difficult.

While accepting his award, he shared a touching moment on stage. “This is my first time leaving town after becoming a father,” the actor said, instantly striking a chord with new parents everywhere.

Still not there? He is none other than Vicky Kaushal. He was named NDTV Indian Actor of the Year 2025 for his performance as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in Chhaava.

He dedicated the victory to his family, saying: “This is for my family and for my little child, who came blessed.” For him, the award had a deeper meaning.

The actor said that it was very “difficult,” referring to leaving his daughter. However, he hopes his son will watch this moment one day and feel proud of his father.

Moreover, Vicky in his speech said that this stage is “blessed” adding that God has been really good to him. He even admitted that he is now “better at changing diapers than acting.”

Vicky and Katrina Kaif welcomed their baby boy in November. The duo shared the news with a simple post that reflected their quiet joy. “Our bundle of joy has arrived,” they wrote in a shared Instagram post.

Vicky and Katrina got married in an intimate ceremony at Six Senses Fort Barwara in Rajasthan on December 9, 2021. They kept their relationship secret until they tied the knot.

Before stardom, Vicky worked behind the scenes as an assistant director on the film Gangs of Wasseypur. His breakthrough came with Masaan where he was seen alongside Richa Chaddha and Shweta Tripathi.

It was Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019) that made him a household name and even bagged him a National Film Award. From then on, there was no looking back for him.

This year, he was seen in Chava, directed by Laxman Utekar. The film also starred Rashmika Mandanna. It became one of the major box office successes of the year.
