Tension erupted at Delhi’s Nizamuddin railway station on October 16 when a fight broke out between employees of the Gwalior-bound Vande Bharat Express 22470. The clash occurred before the train left, astonishing the passengers. Many have expressed concern over the incident, saying such behavior damages the reputation of Indian Railways and the outstanding service of Vande Bharat trains.
Videos of the fight circulated widely on social media, showing employees hitting each other with trash cans, belts and fists. Observers and social media users criticized the attack and demanded strict action, noting that employees who display such behavior “do not deserve to represent the Indian Railways.”
Chaos on the platform
The clip shows approximately six to eight employees engaging in a chaotic battle. Some swing belts, others throw trash cans at each other. A few employees fall, are overpowered, and then return to the fight. The passengers watch from a distance as the altercation continues.
The Railway Protection Force eventually arrived to intervene, but the brawl continued even after they were there. The video lasts 1 minute and 19 seconds and ends with no clear resolution.
