A video showing an alleged disturbing interaction between a Delhi rickshaw driver and a foreign traveler sparked outrage online recently. The clips, which were shared on Instagram by a traveler from New Zealand, appear to show the driver repeatedly offering paid sexual services during the trip to the airport.
In the videos, the driver can be heard making explicit suggestions despite the tourist’s refusal several times. “Just use Uber in Delhi guys. More trustworthy,” the traveler later advised viewers. The clip was widely shared and picked up by several platforms.
The allegations in the clip
According to the widely circulated account, the auto driver – identified as Faroz Khan – initially demanded Rs 1,300 for the airport ride, and later settled at Rs 1,000 after negotiation. During the trip, he allegedly offered to arrange a “good girl” at a nearby hotel and claimed she was between 18 and 20 years old.
The driver reportedly insisted on this even after the tourist repeatedly refused. In one clip, he allegedly said: “Just 20 minutes” and mentioned a Rs 10,000 package including a room, “pizza” and a “girl”. The content sparked anger and embarrassment among viewers, with many questioning safety standards.

Social Media Flags “Text Alert”
However, the narrative has now taken a sharp turn. Several users on X claimed that the video was scripted. Screenshots circulating online show posts warning that several news outlets may have shared a clip that was staged as real.
One post described it as a “written alert,” and urged users to add community feedback to the original tweets. Another highlighted that several media organizations carried headlines such as “Delhi auto rickshaw driver allegedly offers illegal shows…” and “Good girls, 18-20: Delhi auto driver’s dirty talk…” – suggesting that the story was exaggerated before it was verified.
The reference to ‘fake Delhi taxi’ raises questions
Adding to the suspicions are photos referring to a series titled “Delhi Fake Taxi Pt. 0” and “Delhi Fake Taxi Pt. 2.” The same person seen in the viral clip appears in classified content as part of the set-up and name reveal.
One post also claimed that “many news outlets shared this scripted footage as real,” noting how the footage was widely circulated without verifying its authenticity. These claims suggest the interaction may have been staged content designed to be shared on social media rather than an actual incident.

There is no official complaint or police confirmation
As of now, there is no public confirmation from Delhi Police regarding any complaint lodged in connection with the alleged incident. No official details about the case have emerged. The absence of official statements led to increased speculation about the authenticity of the clip.
Although the video initially sparked outrage, growing claims that it was scripted underscore the importance of verification before amplifying it.
