Indresh Upadhyay, the famous ‘katavachak’ from Mathura, is all set to tie the knot on December 5. Upadhyay will marry Shipra Sharma at Taj Amer in Jaipur. Wedding rituals like Sangeet and Haldi have already taken place at Upadhyay’s residence in Ramanriti, Vrindavan.
According to Navbharat Times, Indresh Upadhyay’s Ghudachadhi (horse riding ceremony) was held on Wednesday, December 3. Wearing a turban and white sherwani, the prospective groom left for Jaipur with the wedding procession. Elephants and horses were part of the procession.
Who is Indresh Upadhyay?
He is the son of the famous Katavachak Krishna Chandra Shastri Maharaj and Narwada Sharma. According to a Zee News report, Upadhyay has three sisters. He was interested in spirituality from a young age. When he was thirteen years old, he had completed his studies of the Bhagavad Gita.
Upadhyay later founded the Bhaktipath Organization, which aims to spread the teachings of great Indian sages and saints, according to its official website. He has 2.1 million followers on Instagram.
Who is Indresh Upadhyay’s bride?
Shipra, who hails from Haryana, is the daughter of Pandit Harendra Sharma, former DSP. Her family currently lives in Amritsar, according to Navbharat Times. The couple’s families have known each other for years.
Wedding invitation and other preparations
A Vedic themed invitation has been prepared for the wedding. Prasads from major temples in Vrindavan, including cardamom sweet prasads and laddus from other temples, were sent along with the card. A beautiful photo of Shrinathji was printed on the card.
Wedding location and date
The wedding will take place from 10am to 1pm on December 5. While Taj Amer will host the ceremony, other details, such as the concert hall, have not been announced. A grand reception will be held the same evening.
Famous people to attend the wedding
According to Navbharat Times, Bollywood singer P Prak will be attending the wedding. Invitations were sent to prominent saints of Jaipur, such as Badi Bhaiya Ji of Shri Saras Nikunj and Mahant Anjan Goswami of Govindevji Temple. Moolak Peethadheeshwar Rajendra Das Maharaj, Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham, Kathavachaks Pundrik Goswami and Devkinandan Thakur were also invited.
