A video showing a young boy crying in a classroom while being questioned by a teacher has sparked criticism online. Author and lyricist Nilesh Misra also reacted strongly to the clip and wondered why such moments were recorded and shared on social media.

The incident sparked a broader discussion about children’s privacy and emotional well-being and teachers filming students during vulnerable situations.

The teacher records a baby crying in the classroom

The video shows the child, who was wearing a red jacket, clearly upset and repeatedly asking the teacher to stop. The teacher continues to question her while recording the interaction. At one point, the child pleads, “Please, ma’am. Please, just stop.”

The teacher asks the student why she is crying and asks her about missing classes and her inability to answer simple class questions. The child appears nervous and agitated throughout the clip and continues to ask to leave.

The video also shows the teacher asking basic questions regarding what shines in the sky during the day. – The child finds it difficult to answer while crying. The teacher is also heard warning the child that she will be beaten if she fails to answer correctly.

Nilesh Misra raises concerns

After the clip surfaced online, Nilesh Misra reacted strongly on X (formerly Twitter) and questioned why these videos were being normalised.

“How is this acceptable? Teachers recording videos of school children in their vulnerable moments and posting them on social media? Is this a joke??? If this were my daughter I would have raised hell,” he wrote.

He also urged the authorities to set rules around such recordings. “I urge the Honorable Minister of Education to consider establishing guidelines on this growing trend. As a parent, this behavior by teachers, which is now all too common, is completely unacceptable. Let us all stop normalizing this behavior by teachers.”

The post led to a wider online discussion, with many users expressing concerns about children being filmed during stressful situations in classrooms.

The Internet interacts with video

Many social media users criticized the teacher’s actions and questioned why these videos were uploaded publicly.

“People try their best to create and upload all kinds of reels just for the sake of becoming famous. Whatever happens, whatever matters to us, we have our views,” one user wrote. That’s the mentality these days.”

Another said: “We live in the age of social media, where we humans need external validation for everything.”

“Unauthorized recording of children’s vulnerable moments and posting on social media in order to engage in farming, also by teachers, is a serious concern,” one person commented.

Another user wrote: “They should be in prison, not teaching, never having access to a child again. Cell phones are a threat these days. Posting a video of a child like this is a serious violation.”
