An Indian man’s first day in Japan left him stunned after he noticed how different daily life was compared to what he was used to. From the clean streets to the quiet neighborhoods, almost everything around him caught his attention.
The man shared his experience on Instagram, where he gave viewers a glimpse into his surroundings and the small details that emerged during his first day in the country.
What surprised him the most?
The touching video was posted by Dev Vijay Vargia, who said that he had a day off after arriving in Japan and decided to explore the area near his home. “It feels like a whole different world,” he said while walking around the neighborhood.
In the video, he pointed out the clean roads, quiet streets, vending machines on almost every corner, and nearby stores. He also showed a drain behind his residence that looked surprisingly clean, saying it was something he didn’t expect to see.
The clip was shared with the caption: “Good morning from Japan! Day 1 starts now.” The video received more than 3 million views on Instagram, and many people shared their thoughts on the differences it highlighted.

Many users agreed with his observations and said that the cleanliness was a result of good civic sense.
“Brother, please help bring some civic sense to Indians,” one user wrote. Another commented: “Bro is indirectly roasting India.” “It takes one international trip to see how a country operates without corruption and sound law,” one person said.
Another user wrote: “People in the country know how to keep everything clean, magic nahi hai ye (it’s not magic), it’s basic civic sense that our country doesn’t understand.”
One comment read: “It’s good to see more people realizing what the country should look like. If you keep the streets clean, and put your show forward as a citizen and as a government, things will look like this.”
Some users also reacted with humor. Another user wrote: “Hamara Bihar me hota toh tree he uhkhad kar le jate.” Another commented: “Japan lives in 2050. A developed country.” One user asked: “How is it so clean?”
Another joked: “The Indians can’t stay in such a quiet area. We need the horns, the scolding and the shouting of friends on the roads. It will only be good for a few weeks.”
