A post on X (formerly Twitter) received widespread attention after it claimed that some spectators at cricket stadiums are getting their personal screens to watch the IPL match more clearly. The idea surprised many, as users reacted to how different the viewing experience was for people sitting in the premium sections.

The post quickly led to questions about whether such setups make sense when fans are already inside the stadium to watch the game live. Shared by a woman (@hajarkagalwa) who attended the Mumbai Indians (MI) vs. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) match at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, April 12; Along with her post, she shared a photo of herself sitting with her family in the stands.

In the photo, the group is seen smiling for a selfie while sitting in a distinct seating area. What stood out was a small personal screen placed directly in front of each seat, showing the live match. The stadium fans can be seen in the background, while the screen shows a player on the field.

She commented on the post, saying: “Today it is a year old to know that rich people have a private screen in front of them so they can watch the match properly.”

As the post gained attention, people shared different reactions. Many were confused about the purpose of watching the screen while in the stadium.

One user asked: “What’s the point of going to the stadium then?” The woman replied: “Experience.”

Another joked: “This is like watching a Korean movie with subtitles.”

Some people felt the idea made sense. One user said: “Honestly, this is great. I’ve had the same thought so many times, and then I end up staring at Hotstar buffering on my mobile screen. Money really is what makes things happen.”

Others continued to question the concept. One comment read: “Why watch the live broadcast from the stadium if you’re just going to watch TV… No one can understand the minds of rich people.”

Many users echoed similar thoughts, writing: “What’s the point of watching the match live?”, “What’s the point of going to the stadium?”, and “But why go down to the ground then.” Another person added a lighthearted clip, saying, “We’re also watching a private screen at our house :-).”
